Supporters of the Kwankwasiyya movement, led by Sanusi Surajo Kwankwaso, have met with members of the Obidient movement in Kaduna as part of early efforts to build a political alliance ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting, described as a North West zonal engagement, brought together key figures from both camps to explore the possibility of a joint political ticket under a proposed “OK” alliance framework.

The Kwankwasiyya movement, associated with Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and the Obidient movement, which gained national prominence during the 2023 elections in support of Peter Obi, are seen as influential grassroots-driven blocs with significant youth backing.

While details of the discussions were not publicly disclosed, the meeting signals early coalition-building among opposition-aligned groups seeking to reshape Nigeria’s political landscape ahead of the next election cycle.

Neither camp has officially confirmed the terms of any agreement, but analysts say such engagements could mark the beginning of broader negotiations aimed at consolidating support across regions.
