Tensions are mounting within Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) following reports that several aspirants were unable to access nomination forms at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

Those affected were said to have been left stranded amid what they described as an opaque and frustrating process, raising fresh concerns about transparency within the party.

Allegations have also emerged that the nomination exercise is being influenced to favour consensus candidates, with some aspirants accusing state governors of playing a decisive role in determining who secures the forms.

The controversy has intensified debate over internal democracy in the APC, as discontent grows among party members ahead of the 2027 general elections.

While party officials have yet to respond in detail to the claims, the situation underscores broader concerns about fairness and the credibility of candidate selection processes within Nigeria’s political landscape.
