Nigeria’s Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has dismissed as false reports claiming it approved 48 additional digital loan applications, a move that would have increased the number of licensed digital lenders in the country to 505.

In a statement, the Commission described the reports as inaccurate and urged the public to disregard the claims, stressing that no such approvals had been granted. The FCCPC reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and warned against the spread of misleading information regarding the licensing of digital lending platforms.
