Zamalek sack former Super Eagles coach Peseiro

Egyptian club Zamalek have terminated the contract of former Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro.

The White Knights took the decision following the club’s 2-2 draw against National Bank.

“Zamalek and Jose Peseiro agree to end the relationship by mutual consent. We wish the best in future,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.

Peseiro signed a two-year contract with Zamalek many months after his contract with the Super Eagles ended in March 2024 soon after he guided the country to the final of the 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.

In 17 matches with Zamalek, the Portuguese coach lost twice and drew eight games.

The team also failed to successfully defend their CAF Confederation Cup title.
