A fresh internal crisis has shaken the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), with a splinter faction rejecting the outcome of the party’s recent convention held in Abuja.

The group has disowned the emergence of Hakeem Baba-Ahmed as National Chairman, alleging that the process was manipulated as part of a broader attempt to seize control of the party’s structure.

In a strongly worded reaction, the faction claimed the convention lacked transparency and legitimacy, warning that the development could deepen divisions within the party if not urgently addressed.

The leadership dispute underscores growing tensions within the PRP, raising concerns over internal cohesion and the party’s preparedness ahead of future political contests.

Party officials aligned with the convention outcome are yet to issue a detailed response, leaving the crisis unresolved as competing claims to legitimacy threaten to widen the rift.
