Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle, has expressed strong confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure re-election in 2027, as political discussions begin to quietly build ahead of the next general election cycle.
Matawalle, speaking in a recent political remark, insisted that the current administration enjoys growing support across the country and will retain public confidence at the polls.
He added that the ruling party remains well positioned, suggesting that ongoing government reforms and political structures would work in favour of Tinubu’s return for a second term.
The comments come as early political alignments and speculation gradually emerge within Nigeria’s shifting political landscape, more than a year before official campaigns are expected to begin.
Mohammed Bello Matawalle is a key figure within the current administration, while Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not yet formally declared his 2027 re-election bid, though allies continue to signal confidence in his political future.
