Iran and Russia have jointly intensified calls for an immediate cessation of Israeli military operations in Lebanon, warning that continued strikes could further destabilise an already volatile Middle East.
In separate statements, both Tehran and Moscow urged Israel to halt its attacks, describing the ongoing military escalation in Lebanon as a serious threat to regional security and broader diplomatic efforts aimed at containing conflict in the region.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry said all parties involved in regional negotiations must act responsibly and avoid steps that could undermine chances for peace, stressing the need to “immediately stop” military actions in Lebanese territory.
Iran echoed the call, insisting that continued Israeli operations in Lebanon would have consequences for broader regional stability and ongoing diplomatic engagements, while reiterating its support for Lebanon amid escalating hostilities.
The renewed pressure comes as diplomatic efforts continue behind the scenes to contain spillover from the wider Middle East conflict, with Lebanon remaining one of the most volatile flashpoints.
Israeli authorities have not yet responded to the latest joint calls from Moscow and Tehran.
Tensions have escalated in recent months as cross-border strikes and military operations involving Israel, Hezbollah, and regional allies have raised fears of a wider regional war.
Analysts warn that without urgent de-escalation, the conflict risks expanding further across the region, drawing in additional state and non-state actors.
