Former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, Nicolas Felix, says President Bola Tinubu is already on course for a second term, predicting that he will win the 2027 election with at least 15 million votes.
He made the statement on Thursday in Suleja during a community outreach, where he distributed thousands of litres of free fuel to residents.
Felix dismissed the newly formed coalition under the African Democratic Congress, led by opposition figures like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi, as politically weak and directionless.
“There’s nothing wrong with forming coalitions in a democracy, but this one will collapse just like others before it,” he said. “They’ve not even told Nigerians what they want to do. All we hear is noise.”
He added, “Let them come together. It’s allowed. But they will scatter. Their intentions aren’t pure, and Nigerians can see that.”
Felix believes that Tinubu’s popularity is growing across the country, citing the new NELFund student grant and other economic interventions as evidence that the APC is winning hearts.
“Over 600,000 students have received interest-free grants from the federal government. That’s more than N100 billion. Their parents will vote, their families will vote. We know what we’re doing,” he said.
According to him, the 2027 campaign will be straightforward.
“When the time comes, we will show Nigerians what the President has done. For now, we’re focused on touching lives. That’s why I’m giving out free fuel today.”
Felix explained that the fuel distribution was part of his personal contribution to the Renewed Hope agenda.
“We’re just giving back,” he said. “This is not politics. We did it in 2023 in Edo, and we’re doing it again here. People are smiling, and that’s what matters.”
He clarified that the outreach was targeted more at low-income earners.
“If I see a G-Wagon queueing for this fuel, I’ll be surprised. It’s for those who need it: Okada and Keke riders, people struggling. That’s where the impact is.”
Also present at the event was APC Deputy National Women Leader, Zainab Ibrahim. She said the party’s women wing is mobilising support for Tinubu and backing the Special Seats Bill in the National Assembly, which she described as a “game changer” for women in governance.
“For the first time, the Ministry of Women Affairs has over ₦100 billion to work with. That’s serious progress. Nigerian women are watching, and we’ll back the President again in 2027,” she said.
The crowd at the fuel distribution point sang party slogans and chanted the President’s name, as motorcyclists queued for litres of free petrol under the hot sun.
Felix ended with a parting shot at the opposition: “Let them keep talking. We’ll keep working. In the end, the people know who’s delivering.”
