Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Monisade Afuye, has expressed confidence that the governing party will secure a decisive victory in Saturday’s governorship election, citing the impressive turnout of voters across the state.
Speaking to journalists shortly after casting her ballot at about 8:50 a.m., Mrs Afuye said the large number of residents participating in the election reflected the electorate’s determination to sustain the state’s current leadership.
“We are going to win with a wide margin,” she declared, adding that the peaceful conduct of the exercise and the enthusiasm shown by voters were clear indications of public support for the party.
She commended the electoral process, urging voters to remain peaceful and orderly throughout the exercise while expressing optimism that the outcome would reflect the will of the people.
Voting commenced in several polling units across Ekiti State on Saturday as residents turned out to elect a new governor in an election closely watched by political observers.
