Nigerian singer Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has stirred concern among fans after posting a brief but emotional message on social media.

The singer, best known for his energetic hit “Free Madness” and “Shayo”, took to his (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday afternoon, writing simply: “Pray for me.”

The post, made without any further explanation, immediately sparked reactions online, with many followers expressing worry and offering words of encouragement to the artist, who has maintained a relatively quiet profile in recent years.

While the reason behind Terry G’s post remains unclear, his message has prompted a wave of empathy across social media platforms. Some fans urged him to stay strong, while others offered prayers for his well-being.

A user identified as @Educatedpainter wrote, “May the good Lord meet you at your point of need.”

Another fan, @riciouswoo, encouraged the singer, saying, “God gat you bros. Nothing do you. God is your strength in all you’re going through at the moment.”

In a similar tone, @Miss_welshman commented, “May God see you through whatever you are going through and may you come out victorious. Amen.”

Others expressed concern mixed with humour. @danielojumu479 replied, “Bruh, go listen to Davido ‘Pray,’ make your head calm small okay?”

The artist, often regarded as one of the most controversial yet talented figures in Nigeria’s music industry, has not made any follow-up statements since the post.

Terry G, who once dominated the Afro-pop scene with his unique sound and eccentric personality, has previously spoken about facing challenges in his career. He has also publicly dismissed claims of quitting music, assuring fans that he remains active in the entertainment space.

For now, fans continue to hope that the “Akpako Master” is in good health and that his latest message is not a sign of distress.
