A short video showing popular Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold and content creator Eyinju Oluwa, popularly known as Kidbaby, at a recent event has sparked mixed reactions on social media.

The video, which surfaced online on Friday, captured the moment the visibly excited Kidbaby tried to greet the award-winning artist as he walked past. The skit maker, smiling broadly, clapped and called out to the singer, referring to him as “our daddy.” However, Adekunle Gold appeared not to notice her and continued moving, escorted by his security team.

The clip has since triggered a wave of comments, with fans sharing varied opinions about what transpired.

One fan, @officialaygold, wrote, “Definitely not intentional. Eja NLA might not recognise her real face.”

Another user, @Theyenvyherrrr, defended the singer, saying, “That place is noisy. He probably didn’t hear her, with his bodyguards directing him out. He once posted her video on X nah. Una sha like drama.”

However, not everyone saw it that way. A commenter, @FCSTradng, criticised the incident, stating, “Person wey she should have ignored. I don’t know why you people allow yourself to be disgraced by this yeyebrities. Yeyebrity my foot!”

Others suggested that the situation was an unfortunate misunderstanding caused by the singer’s handlers. @olasebotifeg wrote, “I think it’s oversight plus his guards.”

Meanwhile, some fans offered advice to the skit maker, saying she should avoid such situations in the future. @billieoflagos remarked, “From that moment she no go ever greet any celebrity.”

Another user, @CHULLY1010, disagreed, saying, “If she passes him and doesn’t greet, people will start dragging her. She only did the right thing.”

Observers familiar with Adekunle Gold’s previous online activities recalled that the singer had once shared one of Kidbaby’s comedy skits on his social media page, suggesting there was no ill intent.

The incident has since reignited discussions on how celebrities interact with fans and fellow creatives in public spaces, with many calling for more understanding from both sides.

Adekunle Gold, who recently warmed hearts with a viral video of his daughter, Deja, speaking Yoruba, has yet to respond to the viral clip involving Kidbaby.
