No fewer than 10,465 students from Kogi State’s tertiary institutions have applied for the 2025 Senator Sunday Karimi Education Foundation and Tinubu Support Group bursary scheme.
The Secretary of the Foundation’s Central Committee, Tosin Busuyi, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Lokoja, assuring that the selection process would be fair, transparent and merit-driven.
According to him, the committee has already begun sorting and screening applications, with only 3,000 students set to emerge as beneficiaries. Successful names will be published once the process is concluded.
Busuyi reiterated Senator Karimi’s commitment to ensuring equal opportunities, urging applicants to monitor official media platforms for updates.
The bursary programme, launched in July 2025, was open for applications between 1 and 31 August. The award is targeted at indigent students of Kogi origin studying in public tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
A breakdown of the slots shows 1,390 beneficiaries from Kogi West, 1,000 from Kogi East, and 610 from Kogi Central.
