The Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has carried out a minor reshuffle of his cabinet, redeploying the Commissioner for Livestock Development, Professor Omorodion Ikponmwonsa, to the Ministry of Oil and Gas.
The redeployment is part of the governor’s efforts to reposition his administration and strengthen the various sectors of the state’s economy.
Professor Ikponmwonsa, who recently assumed office as Commissioner for Livestock Development, will now oversee the Ministry of Oil and Gas, a key portfolio given Edo State’s growing interest in developing its oil and gas resources.
The latest cabinet adjustment is expected to bring renewed focus to the sector, particularly in the areas of investment, resource development and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
The governor is also expected to assign a new commissioner to the Ministry of Livestock Development following Professor Ikponmwonsa’s redeployment.
The reshuffle comes as the Okpebholo administration continues to review its cabinet and deploy officials to positions where their experience and expertise can best support the government’s development agenda.
