New education support fund offers up to ₦10 million with generous repayment terms
President Bola Tinubu has launched a landmark support platform aimed at boosting the welfare of academic and non-academic staff in Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.
The initiative—dubbed the Tertiary Institution Staff Support Fund (TISSF)—offers interest-free loans of up to ₦10 million, with a flexible repayment period of five years. Beneficiaries will also enjoy a one-year grace period before repayment begins.
The application portal is now live and can be accessed at tissf.education.gov.ng.
Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, praised the move, describing TISSF as a “tangible expression” of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
“This fund underscores the President’s unwavering commitment to uplifting the education sector and supporting its workforce,” Alausa said.
The launch marks a significant stride in the administration’s ongoing reforms to revitalize higher education and improve staff welfare across the country.
