The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has announced a six-month flight ban on Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, widely known as K1 De Ultimate, over a recent incident at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

The agency confirmed the decision during a press conference on Thursday, saying the musician’s conduct during a dispute with ValueJet officials violated aviation safety protocols.

Michael Achimugu, NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, said the move is part of efforts to enforce order across the aviation sector.

“What I must assure the general public is that everybody involved in this will be brought to book,” he said.

“As we speak, the passenger is going to be blacklisted for the next six months flying in Nigeria.”

According to Achimugu, the rules guiding aviation conduct apply to all passengers without exception.

“Aviation rules are made for the protection of everybody. These rules are global. There is nothing about the rules that is meant to antagonise any passenger,” he added.

The NCAA said it has also written to the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police to initiate legal action against the musician.

Achimugu stated that investigations are ongoing and further steps would be taken as necessary.
