Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has condemned the killing of a woman and her six children in Kano, describing the incident as horrific and calling for swift justice against those responsible.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the governor expressed shock and deep sorrow over the attack, saying the loss of innocent lives was unacceptable and a grave assault on the conscience of society.
“Justice must be served,” Yusuf said, stressing that the perpetrators must be identified and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
The governor extended his condolences to the family of the victims and the wider community, noting that the state government would work closely with security agencies to ensure a thorough investigation.
He also urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement officials, assuring the public that his administration is committed to protecting lives and property across the state.
The killings have sparked outrage in Kano, renewing concerns over violent crime and domestic safety. Security agencies are yet to release full details of the circumstances surrounding the incident, but investigations are ongoing.
Governor Yusuf reiterated his administration’s zero-tolerance stance on violence, warning that criminal acts would not be allowed to undermine peace and stability in the state.
