Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has released documents he claims show that Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, received ₦50 billion from President Bola Tinubu. The materials were made public on Tuesday and circulated widely after being shared via Politics Nigeria.
Fayose, who has recently clashed with Governor Makinde over political control in the South-West, said the documents were proof of what he described as “back-channel financial support” allegedly extended to the Oyo State Government.
Although the former governor did not reveal the specific purpose of the alleged funds, he insisted that the documents were sourced from credible channels and urged federal authorities to provide clarity.
The presidency and the Oyo State Government have yet to issue an official response to the claims. Efforts to reach Governor Makinde’s media team for comment were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
Fayose’s latest move is expected to intensify political tensions within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as both men continue to jostle for influence ahead of upcoming political alignments in the region.
More details are expected as the story develops.
