Proceedings in a cyberstalking case filed by Nigerian cleric Chris Okafor have been stalled after actress Doris Ogala failed to appear in court.
A Federal High Court in Lagos adjourned the case to June 9, 2026, following the defendant’s absence, halting progress in a trial that has drawn public attention.
Ogala was arraigned on a four-count charge bordering on alleged cyber offences. The charges include publishing personal materials without consent, dissemination of false information, cyberbullying, and attempted extortion.
The suit was initiated by Okafor, founder of the Mountain of Liberty and Miracle Ministry, who accuses the actress of using digital platforms to target him.
The court did not immediately indicate whether any sanctions would be imposed for Ogala’s absence. The case is expected to resume on the new date as proceedings continue.
