The high-level meeting focused on unlocking new opportunities in the creative and cultural industries, with both countries exploring partnerships that could drive innovation, tourism, cultural exchange and investment.

Ms Musawa said Nigeria’s creative sector remains a key pillar of the government’s economic diversification agenda, highlighting its vast potential to generate jobs, attract foreign investment and boost the country’s global cultural influence.

Ambassador Suzuki Hideo reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding relationship with Nigeria, expressing optimism that greater cooperation in the creative industry would deliver mutual economic and cultural benefits.

The discussions also underscored the importance of leveraging the strengths of both countries to promote sustainable growth, preserve cultural heritage and expand opportunities for artists, filmmakers, designers and other creative professionals.
