Kashim Shettima has affirmed Bola Tinubu’s dedication to unlocking Nigeria’s full potential and positioning the country as a major force on the African continent.

He made this statement while receiving a delegation from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, led by senior fellow Rolf Alter, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday.

Shettima emphasized that Nigeria is actively engaging with top global institutions to strengthen policy development and execution, with a particular focus on human capital advancement.

He reiterated that President Tinubu is resolute in his mission to elevate Nigeria to its rightful place as a continental leader.

“The current crop of leadership in Nigeria under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is ready and willing to unleash the full potential of the Nigerian nation on the African continent,” stated Mr Shettima. “We are laying the groundwork through strategic reforms, and at the heart of it is human capital development.”

He described the Hertie School as a valued partner in the ongoing journey of development.

Highlighting its institutional expertise, he noted that the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin brings a strong track record that enriches policy formulation and implementation—particularly vital in today’s rapidly evolving landscape.

He also recognized the crucial contributions of international development partners in advancing these efforts.

Mr. Shettima reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening cooperation, assuring the delegation of its readiness to deepen collaborative ties.

He further outlined recent economic reforms undertaken by the government, including the removal of fuel subsidies and adjustments to foreign exchange policy.

In response, Mr. Alter commended the Tinubu administration for the successful rollout and execution of its human capital development strategy.

Describing the initiative as both ambitious and citizen-focused, the delegation leader expressed satisfaction with the progress observed during his visit.
