Troops from Operation Hadin Kai picked up two suspected Boko Haram members in Borno. The pair had been moving supplies for the insurgents.

A military source said Sunday that soldiers from the 162 Amphibious Battalion stopped Ibrahim Muhammad and Saidu Abdulazeez at a checkpoint on the Mandaragirau–Sabon Gari road. The arrest happened around 3 p.m. on June 20 during a standard sweep aimed at choking off terrorist supply lines across the northeast.

The men were caught carrying items clearly headed for fighters in the area. What the troops pulled from them included a red Golf vehicle, 15 yards of clothing material, a public address system, a school bag, a vacuum flask, a Tecno phone, an Android phone, an OPay debit card, and the transaction receipts that went with it.

“The suspects were arrested while transporting items suspected to be logistics supplies for Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists. The recovered items and the suspects are currently in military custody for further investigation and intelligence exploitation,” the source said.

From there the suspects and all the seized gear were taken to Abogo Largema Cantonment. Security teams are questioning them to trace any links to wider terror networks and spot other people working with them.

Military officials think the case could yield useful details on how supplies, money, and people keep reaching the insurgents in the North-East. The source added that the overall security picture across the theater stays calm but unpredictable. Troops are still out there, staying sharp and pressing the counter-terrorism fight.
