The Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, says President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated strong commitment to democratic principles by subjecting himself to internal party processes like other aspirants.
Speaking on party politics and internal democracy, Ododo praised Tinubu’s conduct, describing it as a model for political engagement within Nigeria’s ruling structure.
“Mr President is a firm believer in democracy… he submitted himself to this process just like others,” Ododo said, emphasising that the president’s actions reflect respect for due process and fair competition within the party system.
The governor urged members of the party to uphold and strengthen internal democratic practices going forward, saying such standards are essential for building trust and unity within political organisations.
Ododo’s remarks come amid ongoing debates within Nigeria’s political space over candidate selection processes and adherence to party rules.
