President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has lauded renowned legal luminary, Chief Ogwu Onoja, SAN, for his significant investment in the nation’s education sector, describing it as a vital pillar for human capital development and national growth.
The President gave the commendation over the weekend during the groundbreaking ceremony of a 2,000-capacity multipurpose hall and the Faculty of Law at the permanent site of the proposed Fortlugard University in Apo, Abuja.
Represented by the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Rt. Hon. He noted that the project aligns perfectly with his administration’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” which prioritizes building a globally competitive and ethical workforce.
“Government alone cannot shoulder the responsibility of educating our growing population,” the President stated. “Chief Onoja’s vision reflects the spirit of public-private collaboration that this administration is eager to foster.”
The President also highlighted the strategic location of the university in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), noting that it would further solidify Abuja’s status as a hub for academic excellence and research.
Beyond education, the Minister confirmed that the project has already begun impacting the host community through the provision of access roads, water, and job creation.
Also speaking at the event, Special Guest of Honour, Evangelist Sunday Ogwuche, urged the founder to maintain the university’s foundation on integrity and service, predicting that Fortlugard University would produce graduates who excel both in character and learning.
