President Bola Tinubu has approved a final six-month extension of the tenure of Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi, allowing him to remain in office until February 2027.
Adeniyi’s previous tenure extension was scheduled to expire on August 1, 2026. The latest approval grants him an additional six months, which officials say will be his final extension in office.
The extension is expected to ensure continuity in the administration of the Nigeria Customs Service as the government pursues ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening border security, boosting revenue generation and improving trade facilitation.
