Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Kunle Elebute as the Chairperson of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN), in a move aimed at strengthening the country’s financial reporting and corporate governance framework.
The presidency announced the appointment on Friday, saying Elebute will lead the council responsible for setting and enforcing accounting, auditing and financial reporting standards across Nigeria.
A seasoned financial expert, Elebute is expected to bring decades of experience to the role as the FRCN continues efforts to enhance transparency, accountability and investor confidence in the nation’s financial system.
The appointment takes immediate effect.
