Two masked cyclists caught on camera snatching Ghanaian cleric’s phone during Facebook broadcast in Walthamstow
A Ghanaian pastor conducting morning prayers via Facebook Live had his iPhone stolen by two thieves who failed to realise the device was still broadcasting their crime to hundreds of viewers.
Apostle Isaac Anderson was leading a prayer session for his congregation at 6:30am yesterday on Hoe Street, Walthamstow, when the incident occurred. The pastor was walking along the roadside whilst preaching to his online audience when two balaclava-wearing cyclists approached from behind.
Video footage shows the thieves initially cycling past Anderson before turning back to snatch his iPhone 16 Pro Max from his hands. A passing bus driver attempted to alert the pastor by repeatedly sounding the vehicle’s horn, but Anderson remained focused on his sermon.
The criminals appeared unaware that the stolen device continued streaming live to the pastor’s followers. Audio captured one thief saying: “Hey JP, he’s on TikTok. He’s on TikTok live bro… No fam. How do I end it? It’s on Facebook.”
His accomplice later muttered profanities whilst attempting to cover his face when he realised they were being filmed.
Speaking afterwards, Anderson warned his followers about the growing threat of street crime in the capital.
“All of a sudden, someone from behind on a bike just came and snatched my phone from my hands – an iPhone 16 Pro Max. It’s not easy. All my information was on it,” he said.
