Former  President Goodluck Jonathan was photographed visiting the Abuja residence of Senator David Mark, the newly-appointed national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), on Thursday night.

The unscheduled meeting comes on the heels of the ADC’s recent strategic realignment, which saw a coalition of opposition figures abandon the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) to throw their support behind the party. While details of the conversation remain private, the visit has fueled intense speculation about Jonathan’s potential role in the new opposition front aiming to challenge the current administration.

The ADC recently made a bold call for prominent politicians, including Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, to join its ranks. Jonathan’s visit to the party’s leader is being watched closely as a potential indicator of his future political allegiances and whether he will lend his weight to the emerging coalition.
