Bola Tinubu has declared that, though hunger and poverty remain the most pressing threats to national peace and stability, the Nigerian economy is sailing in the right direction.
Tinubu, who made this declaration during a two-day working visit to Katsina State, boasted that his administration’s commitment to food security and agricultural empowerment is yielding positive results.
During the commissioning of some projects in Katsina, the state with the highest rate of acute malnutrition in Nigeria, he said, “The economy is sailing in the right trajectory. We witnessing an effort to banish hunger.”
Tinubu boasted that “the Bank of Agriculture is being revitalised and resuscitated to make funds available for large, medium and small-scale farming”.
“Small and large-scale farming will be encouraged. Once we liberate ourselves from hunger, we will appreciate peace and harmony, he added.”
While also speaking to the governors present, he encouraged them not to listen to opposition voices.
“Hard work and concrete achievements will answer any criticism. Ignore distractions — your results will speak for you”, he said.
