At least nine people have been killed and 11 others injured after suspected terrorists attacked a community in Southern Kaduna, in Nigeria’s northwestern region, according to local reports.
The assailants reportedly stormed the community, opening fire on residents and leaving several others wounded during the deadly raid. Survivors said the attackers operated for hours before fleeing the area.
The injured victims have been taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment, while security agencies have reportedly been deployed to the affected community to restore calm and begin investigations.
The latest attack adds to a growing wave of insecurity in parts of Kaduna State, where armed groups have repeatedly targeted rural communities, forcing residents to flee their homes and raising fresh concerns over civilian safety.
Authorities are yet to issue a detailed statement on the incident as efforts continue to determine the full circumstances surrounding the attack.
