In a pointed message that has stirred political debate, prominent journalist and political commentator Dele Momodu called on former Senator Bode George to purge himself of any anti-Atiku Abubakar sentiments.
Momodu, who is known for his outspoken commentary on Nigerian politics, made the statement during an interview on national media, emphasising the need for unity among political actors ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Personal grudges and political bitterness should never cloud one’s judgement,” Momodu said. “It is crucial for all leaders and stakeholders to approach our nation’s politics with fairness and without prejudice.”
The remark comes amid ongoing discussions about political alliances and strategies within Nigeria’s opposition parties. Analysts say such public admonitions from influential figures like Momodu could shape discourse around party loyalty and candidate endorsements.
Bode George, a veteran politician and former national deputy chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has yet to respond to the commentary, leaving political watchers speculating on the potential implications for intra-party dynamics.
As Nigeria approaches a critical electoral period, statements like these underscore the intensifying scrutiny of political alignments and the call for leaders to act above personal biases.
