Global superstar and legendary rapper Snoop Dogg has officially joined the ownership group of Swansea City, the Welsh football club currently playing in the EFL Championship. The move comes just days after the 53-year-old artist helped unveil the team’s new home jersey for the 2025-26 season.
Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, joins Croatian football icon Luka Modrić as a high-profile investor in the club.
“My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City,” Snoop Dogg said in a statement. “The story of the club and the area really struck a chord with me. This is a proud, working class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me.”
In its own statement, Swansea City expressed its delight, noting the rapper’s global reach and passion for the sport. The club hopes his involvement will help expand its brand and commercial opportunities worldwide.
Known for selling over 35 million albums and for his deep interest in sports, Snoop Dogg has previously been a brand ambassador for the popular FIFA video game series. His new ownership role signifies a much deeper connection than simply wearing a team’s jersey, which he has been known to do for many teams over the years.
