Days after a deadly bandit assault in Angwan Rukuba, tension and uncertainty continue to hang over Plateau State, as authorities scramble to restore order following an attack that killed at least 28 people.

A 48-hour curfew imposed by security officials has brought daily life to a standstill. Businesses remain shut, streets are largely deserted, and residents have been urged to stay indoors as security patrols intensify across affected neighbourhoods.

Local authorities say the curfew is part of urgent measures aimed at preventing further violence and stabilising the situation, while security agencies continue investigations and reassurance patrols.

Residents, however, describe a community gripped by fear and uncertainty, with economic activities halted and families still reeling from the aftermath of the attack.

The report was first highlighted by News Central TV, as officials emphasise that restoring calm and ensuring residents’ safety remain top priorities.
