The leader of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC), Seriake Dickson, has said the coalition made significant concessions by offering former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso what he described as “free presidential tickets,” questioning why both politicians have yet to fully align with the platform.
Speaking on the coalition’s efforts to unite opposition forces ahead of future elections, Dickson expressed frustration over what he portrayed as the reluctance of Obi and Kwankwaso to embrace the opportunity presented to them.
“We gave Peter Obi and Kwankwaso free presidential tickets. What else do they want?” Dickson said, suggesting that the coalition had gone to great lengths to accommodate the ambitions of both leaders in the interest of building a formidable opposition.
His remarks come amid ongoing political realignments and negotiations among opposition figures seeking to strengthen their chances against the ruling party in the next electoral cycle. Dickson maintained that the coalition remains committed to fostering unity but stressed that all stakeholders must demonstrate a willingness to make compromises for the collective good.
Neither Peter Obi nor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso had publicly responded to Dickson’s comments at the time of reporting.
