President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday held a crucial closed-door meeting with six governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), signalling fresh political moves within the ruling party.
The meeting, which took place at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja, was held away from the media, with details yet to be officially disclosed. However, Presidency sources described the discussions as “strategic”, hinting at matters relating to governance, party cohesion, and preparations ahead of upcoming political engagements.
Among the governors in attendance were key figures from both the North and South, underscoring the significance of the parley and the President’s efforts to maintain unity within the APC amid emerging national challenges.
Though no communiqué was issued after the meeting, the gathering has fuelled speculations about renewed alignments and policy deliberations within the ruling party.
