Israel has issued a stark warning to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, claiming that Iran now possesses long-range ballistic missiles capable of striking London and other European capitals.

The warning follows reports of an attempted Iranian missile strike targeting a joint US-UK military facility at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean — a distance of roughly 4,000 kilometres from Iranian territory.

Israeli officials described the development as a “significant escalation”, pointing to what they say are advances in Tehran’s missile programme, including systems with intermediate to intercontinental range.

While details surrounding the reported strike remain unclear, the claim has heightened concerns among Western allies over the expanding reach of Iran’s strategic capabilities.

Neither London nor Tehran has issued an immediate official response to Israel’s statement.
