Employment Discrepancy: NSUBEB uncovers 73 Unqualified,Age falsification Staff

In continuation with his determination to improve the standard of education at the elementary level, the Chairman of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education,Dr Mohammed Kasim Mohammed through a committee established to investigate improper staff placement, has submitted its findings.

The committee, headed by Sir Allahnana Attah with the assisted of NSUBEB Secretary Hajiya Hasiya Ahmed, discovered that about 73 staff members lack academic qualifications backing their employment in their files.

In addition, some staff members had falsified their age records, indicating they entered primary school on the same day they were born.

The committee also found that certain staff members were employed in 2017/2018 and placed on grade level 13, receiving salaries and entitlements.

“These discrepancies makes it challenging for the Kassim-led board to verify employment dates, qualifications, promotions, and retirement dates for some staff members.

The Sir Attah-led committee submitted the report, requesting the Chairman to thoroughly review the findings and recommendations.

The committee, inaugurated in October 2025 by the NSUBEB Chairman Dr. Kassim,had reviewed every staff member’s file and found records of promotions during a period when the Governor had imposed an embargo on promotions.

“Some staff members’ records show promotions while on study leave, with salaries drawn for certificates yet to be obtained.The report indicated .

Receiving the report, the Executive Chairman of NSUBEB, Dr. Kassim Muhammad Kassim stated that he will carefully study the report and implement it accordingly.

He explained that staff members employed at level 13 will have their cases reviewed, and those who falsified their age or lack academic qualifications will face the consequences.

The NSUBEB Chairman emphasized his commitment to changing the narrative and strengthening the civil service.
