Peter Obi has defended his record of political movement across parties, insisting his departures were never by choice but the result of internal pressures.
“I am always a loyal member of any party,” Obi said, addressing long-standing criticism over his political trajectory. “Yes, people will say he has left this party and that party. One day, those who are close to me will tell the story of how I left those parties.”
The former presidential candidate maintained that his exits were not acts of disloyalty but responses to circumstances beyond his control.
“The truth is that every party I left, I was pushed to leave,” he added.
Obi’s remarks come amid continued scrutiny of party allegiance in Nigeria’s shifting political landscape, where defections and realignments often shape electoral dynamics and public perception.
