Former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has arrived in Doha to officially commence his duties as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Qatar.
Yakubu’s arrival marks the beginning of a new chapter in his public service career, following his tenure at Nigeria’s electoral commission. As ambassador, he is expected to strengthen diplomatic ties, promote bilateral cooperation and advance Nigeria’s strategic interests in Qatar.
His appointment is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to reinforce Nigeria’s diplomatic engagement with key international partners.
