Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has shared candid reflections on his journey through divorce, fatherhood, and personal growth in a recent interview with Saturday Punch.

Highlighting his role as a parent, Iyke emphasised, “Parenting goes beyond words, as children learn by copying actions.” He explained that his son mirrors his behaviour—from dressing and posture to speech—prompting him to live deliberately and avoid public drama.

Addressing remarriage, Iyke stated firmly, “I have no plans to remarry. I’m very clear about this: I took full responsibility for that union.” He revealed that his first marriage coincided with a difficult period marked by the loss of his mother and compounded by cultural and racial tensions that drained him emotionally.

Despite the marriage ending, Iyke praised the amicable post-divorce relationship he maintains with his ex-wife, saying, “Today, we’ve built something rare, a great post-divorce family.” He recounted how “My ex still picks me up from the airport sometimes, even with her new partner, and comes to me for advice. That’s intentional because our child didn’t choose to be born.”

Iyke’s openness sheds light on the complexities of relationships and parenting in the public eye, underscoring his commitment to resilience and intentionality for his child’s well-being.
