Cleric Apostle Okoriko has urged Nigerians to approach the 2027 general elections with greater caution, warning citizens against repeating what he described as past political mistakes.
Speaking amid growing political discussions ahead of the next electoral cycle, Okoriko called on voters to carefully assess political leaders based on their performance, credibility and commitment to delivering on campaign promises rather than relying on rhetoric or partisan loyalties.
“If they deceive you once, don’t allow them deceive you twice,” the cleric said, urging Nigerians to hold public office holders accountable and make informed choices at the ballot box.
His remarks come as political parties and key stakeholders gradually begin positioning themselves for the 2027 elections, with debates over governance, economic reforms, security and the rising cost of living increasingly dominating national discourse.
Okoriko stressed that democracy thrives when citizens remain vigilant and actively participate in the electoral process, adding that voters have a responsibility to scrutinise candidates before entrusting them with public office.
