A Federal High Court has formally dismissed the case filed by Samuel Anyanwu seeking recognition as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretary, following his voluntary withdrawal of the suit.
Anyanwu had approached the court earlier, challenging the party’s decision regarding the national secretariat position. However, in a sudden turn of events, he opted to withdraw the matter, prompting the court to strike it out and bring legal proceedings to a close.
The dismissal means the PDP can continue its administrative processes without further legal hindrance, reinforcing the party’s internal decision-making authority. Legal analysts note that the withdrawal may signal a strategic retreat by Anyanwu to explore alternative political avenues within the party.
No further action is expected unless Anyanwu decides to file a fresh suit challenging the outcome in the future.
The ruling underscores the judiciary’s role in swiftly resolving intra-party disputes when petitioners voluntarily discontinue their cases.
