ottingham Forest has completed the signing of 17-year-old Chinaza Nwosu, a talented midfielder with Nigerian roots, securing him on a three-year contract. The move brings an end to Nwosu’s long tenure at West Ham United, where he spent eight years developing his game.
A product of West Ham’s youth academy, Nwosu joined at the age of eight and quickly made a name for himself. Last season, he featured regularly in the U18 Premier League, accumulating 1,494 minutes in 17 league appearances. He also made his FA Youth Cup debut, playing nearly 80 minutes in a closely contested loss to Grimsby Town.
At Nottingham Forest, Nwosu will initially join the B team under the guidance of Warren Joyce. However, he will also be eligible for the Premier League squad as an under-21 player. His ability to play both as a central midfielder and in central defence has made him an asset to both his club and the England U17 national team.
Internationally, Nwosu represented England’s U17 side in 2024-25, making 11 appearances. He scored once in a friendly against the Netherlands and registered two assists in European Championship qualifiers against Malta and Latvia.
A spokesperson from Nottingham Forest praised Nwosu, calling him “one of the most exciting young talents of his generation.” The club is eager to see him grow into a key player for them.
