Tufab, a close associate of Nigerian music sensation Wizkid, has made serious allegations against fellow artist Davido, accusing him of threatening his life. The controversy surfaced on Wednesday when Tufab shared alleged private messages from Davido on the social media platform X, urging the public to hold the singer accountable if any harm were to come his way.
In the leaked messages, Davido appeared to confront Tufab after being called “Osakpolo,” a term the singer reportedly found offensive. Davido allegedly warned, “My name is not osakpolo I’m warning you. Ok continue. That’s all I will say. I dey warn you. Wetin wan happen. You be bird I be aye, make we play the game.”
Tufab quickly responded, denying that he had used the offensive term and stating that he had no ties to any cult groups. “But I didn’t even call you that. And please stop warning me bro. Abeg, me and you don pass all these level. I’ve never said anything hurtful to you,” Tufab wrote. He also clarified, “I am not affiliated with any cult or fraternity and I don’t have a problem with anyone who is.”
Asserting that his safety was at risk, Tufab publicly shared his concerns, saying, “I’m bringing this to the general public as a disclaimer against my personality. This is not the first time I’ve been threatened; it is becoming too frequent. My life is under threat and if anything happens to me, y’all know who to hold responsible. I’m doing this to protect myself.”
The accusations have sparked an outcry on social media, with many condemning the alleged threats and urging for unity and peace within the Nigerian music industry.
