Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, of allegedly masterminding a plot aimed at undermining his political standing.

Speaking through channels reported by Politics Nigeria, Governor Mohammed claimed that the minister was “determined to destroy” him, describing the alleged moves as a coordinated attempt to destabilise his leadership and influence within the political landscape.

Although he did not provide detailed evidence of the purported plot, the governor insisted that the actions attributed to Wike were designed to weaken his position both within the state and at the national level.

Political observers note that tensions between the two figures have simmered for months, fuelled by rival interests and shifting alliances within the ruling political establishment.

As at the time of this report, the FCT Minister, Mr Wike, had not responded publicly to the allegation. His media team has also yet to issue an official statement addressing Governor Mohammed’s claims.

The development has stirred fresh debate within political circles, with analysts warning that the escalating rift could have broader implications for party cohesion ahead of future elections.
