Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has removed former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, and five other senatorial candidates from its final list of nominees submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party also replaced 19 candidates for the House of Representatives who emerged from its May 2026 primary elections, saying the changes followed recommendations made by its Primary Election Appeal Committee.

The affected states are Abia, Benue, Ebonyi, Kaduna, Kogi, Kwara, Niger, Ondo and Taraba.

In a statement, the APC said its National Working Committee approved the revisions after reviewing appeals arising from the party’s primary elections. It added that the updated list was subsequently forwarded to INEC in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act and the electoral commission’s guidelines.
