The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed concerns over the reported movement of key political figures, insisting that the broader mission to build a formidable opposition coalition remains on course.

Speaking on the development, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, described the reported moves involving Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as merely “a glitch” that the party has already moved beyond.

“We have stabilised and moved forward because the objective remains the same — stopping the steady deterioration of governance in the country and strengthening multi-party democracy,” Abdullahi said.

He added that despite shifting political alignments, the vision of forging a united opposition front remains alive within Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.

“While some have moved to other parties and others remain in ADC, the broader vision of building a strong opposition coalition is still very much alive within the current political dynamics,” he said.

The remarks come amid ongoing realignments among opposition figures ahead of future electoral contests, as parties continue negotiations aimed at consolidating influence against the ruling establishment.
