A former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has challenged the Presidency to make public the contents of the letter reportedly sent by United States President Donald Trump to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Frank accused presidential officials of misleading Nigerians over the nature of the correspondence, insisting that the alleged letter should be released in full to allow the public determine its true content.
In a statement on Thursday, the outspoken political activist argued that transparency was necessary, particularly given the public interest generated by reports surrounding the communication between the two leaders.
He maintained that if the letter genuinely reflected a diplomatic endorsement or conveyed favourable messages as suggested by government officials, there should be no reason to withhold it from Nigerians.
Frank further alleged that the Presidency’s reluctance to publish the document had fuelled speculation and raised questions about the credibility of its claims.
He therefore urged the Tinubu administration to end what he described as unnecessary secrecy by immediately releasing the letter, stressing that Nigerians deserve honesty and openness from their leaders.
The Presidency had yet to respond to Frank’s latest challenge at the time of filing this report.
