On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu convened a meeting with All Progressives Congress (APC) governors at the State House in Abuja, in preparation for the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) session scheduled for Thursday at the State House Banquet Hall.
The closed-door meeting, led by Governor Hope Uzodimma, Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, focused on strengthening the APC’s structure and enhancing its capacity to deliver effective governance across Nigeria.
Uzodimma described the discussions as a productive exchange with the President, aimed at aligning party strategies at grassroots, local, state, and national levels to better serve the nation.
While declining to speculate on specific outcomes of the NEC meeting, he noted that it would address critical party matters, including the appointment of a new national chairman following Umar Ganduje’s resignation in June. The NEC is expected to outline strategies to promote party unity and effective leadership.
