Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has called on governments across the North-East to fulfil their financial commitments towards the proposed regional air shuttle service.
Zulum made the appeal while urging the participating states to redeem their contributions to the initiative, which is aimed at improving air connectivity and easing movement across the region.
The governor said a functional regional air shuttle would boost economic activities, strengthen inter-state connections and make travel within the North-East faster and more convenient.
He stressed the importance of collective commitment from the participating states, warning that delays in meeting their financial obligations could undermine efforts to bring the project to fruition.
The proposed service is expected to provide improved air links between major cities in the North-East, particularly for businesspeople, government officials and other travellers.
Zulum said the initiative would complement existing transport infrastructure and support the region’s broader economic development.
He therefore urged the North-East states to honour their pledges and ensure that the project receives the financial backing required for its successful implementation.
