Nigeria’s Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has issued a sharp warning to the Taminu Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), cautioning that individuals spreading what he described as false information about a recent Court of Appeal ruling could face serious professional consequences, including the loss of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) status.
Wike made the remarks on Wednesday during an inspection tour of projects scheduled for commissioning to mark President Bola Tinubu’s third anniversary in office.
Reacting to what he called “misleading interpretations” of the appellate court’s judgment, the minister accused the Turaki group of deliberately circulating misinformation for political gain.
“Somebody will be derobed,” Wike said, warning that legal and professional repercussions could follow the alleged misrepresentation of the court’s decision.
The latest exchange adds to growing tensions within the PDP, where internal divisions have intensified in recent months, further exposing cracks in the opposition party’s leadership and direction.
